We invite you to Come Grow With Us.
Our Mission is to serve the poor and suffering within the boundaries of our parish.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) is an international organization with over 800,000 members in 149 countries. The two latest countries are Nepal and Mongolia. Membership in the Society is a vocation, a commitment "to follow Christ through service to those in need and so bear witness to his compassionate and liberating love." No work of charity is foreign to the Society. members, called Vincentians, visit the poor and needy in their homes and offer assistance that "alleviates suffering or deprivation and promotes human dignity and personal integrity in all their dimensions."
Because the Conference is totally comprised of volunteers our overhead is very small when compared to other nonprofit organizations. The parish generously provides us with office space and covers all of the overhead expenses intrinsic in having a physical location.
Early in 2011, the Santa Rosa Ladies Group graciously donated a new computer and data tracking software.
Our consumable office expenses are covered by Vincentians' donations. The only operating expenses which are paid for by "Black Bag" donations are the International, National, and Regional dues that each Conference is required to pay.
In FY 2011, better than 97% of all donations were used for direct client services.
Most of us have belonged to parishes where the "black bag" collection was a monthly occurrence. But frequently our knowledge of SVdP is limited to the fact that collected funds are used to help the poor. While that is indeed true, the Society is so much more.
All members of the parish are invited to join us. If you feel called to personally serve the poor and needy please consider becoming a member.

Are generally held at 6:30 PM in the RE Library on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month.
(Except when that Thursday falls on a holiday)
During the Summer months SVdP meets just once a month.
The 1st Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM in the RE Library.
All members of the parish are invited to join us.
Organized locally, Vincentians witness God's love by embracing all works of charity and justice. The society collaborates with other people of good will in relieving need and addressing its causes, making no distinction in those served because, in them, Vincentians "see the face of Christ".
Thank you to all our parishioners who so generously contribute funds and food to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Because of your support we can give fod to the hungry, help with utility, rent, water, and medical/Rx bills, etc.
"No act of charity is foreign to the Society."
The main work of the Society is to offer financial assistance to individuals through our home visit program. Those needing assistance should call our service number 254.317.2891.
A trained Vincentian will answer or call back to conduct an initial intake. Following the intake process two Vincentians will conduct a home visit to determine how we may best assist.
All calls are confidential.
